Since December, I’ve been preparing for one of the toughest and most emotional cycling races in the world: Le Loop – the entire Tour de France, a week before the pros. Thousands of kilometres, extreme elevation gains, heat, exhaustion, doubt, suffering – and yet, at the same time, those incredible moments when you realise why you’re doing all this. But this time, it’s about more than just sport.
Every kilometer will help
We are also part of a charity that supports disadvantaged young people, helping many of them off the streets by providing them with education, training and structure within a supportive environment, thereby enabling them to build a future free from crime.
I don’t just want to ride my kilometers – I want to transform them. That’s why I’m launching this campaign:
👉 “Sponsor a kilometre – I’ll cycle it, you’ll give it meaning.”
Every sponsored kilometer becomes part of a shared journey. A journey that doesn’t just take us along roads, but straight into the lives of young people who urgently need support.
What you can achieve
With your support, you’ll help fund projects for disadvantaged young people – people who didn’t have the same starting point in life, but who deserve the same opportunities. You’ll become part of this journey. Not as a spectator, but as a fellow traveller in spirit.
I cycle. You give it meaning.
When I get on my bike in the morning, I’ll know:
- This next kilometer doesn’t belong to me alone.
- It belongs to everyone who helps turn it into something good.
And that is exactly what gives me strength when the going gets tough. When my legs are burning. When my head says: enough.
Then I keep going. Not just for myself – but for something bigger than myself.
Whether you’re supporting 1 kilometre, 10 or more – you’re part of this journey.
And perhaps that’s the most wonderful thought of all:
That exercise isn’t just about distance, but can take on meaning.
In return, I’ll be providing the daily tour report again. Just like in 2017, you’ll receive the daily reports on the stages – complete with all the events, anecdotes and curiosities – in your inbox each morning, allowing you to join in virtually.
So, don’t be a wimp, be a supporter and click here
Thank you – and maybe you’ll be next
A huge thank you to everyone who has already signed up for a stretch of the route. You’ve already given this journey real meaning. And you can feel it:
This journey isn’t just mine anymore.
If you’re reading this and haven’t joined in yet – no problem.
But the honest question is:
👉 Do you want to be able to say at the end, “I was part of it”?
There are still kilometres to go.
You can still get on board.
Perhaps the next one is just for you.
