Using the usual summer visit to my Mom and my former hometown, to participate in a traditional event, a tour through the Bavarian Forrest to the highest mountain in Eastern Bavaria and back to Regensburg. Which even fits my cycling program of riding one-day events this year.

After all the one day events, interim reports, COV19 cancellations, finally an event that deserves the name of this page, a tour. A tour through Portugal, the Transportugal Roads Tour. From the very north through the country to the most southwestern corner to the “last german sausages before America”. And of course there will be again a daily tour report with photos, interviews, and stories.

This epic route through Lombardy to the Ligurian coast was a wonderful experience, especially, because it wasn’t a mass event. I’ve done it with about 660 like-minded others. Almost 300 km of cycling on one day is quite special, although I can report it wasn’t that bad.

I’ve done it and it was great! Never did I experienced such a cycling festival, a lasting experience with a reason to come back. Recovered and rested to some extent, I can now report.

Still 6 weeks until the festival on the island of the friends of cycling starts. Inspired by my cycling community I became aware of the event “Mallorca 312” and immediately decided: “I have to be there, I want to make that experience”.

Hard months are behind us and this year the winter with single-digit temperatures, slippery roads and partly violent wind also lasts until the end of March and even into April. Being on the road with a racing bike can become unhealthy quite quickly, due to the narrow tyres.
