The first 4 stages took us gently into the Pyrenees, only to become more challenging each day until we crossed the roof of the Pyrenees before the rest day in Arreau.

You will not find any pictures of participants here. I created this page before the tour de france 2017 and did not want to publish photos without the express permission of the participants.

1 Etappe – Irun – Saint Jean Pied-de-Port

2 Etappe Saint Jean Pied-de-Port – Isaba

3. Etappe Isaba – Eaux Bonnes

This 100km were not so hard now, not even the climb to Pierre St. Martin. The descent was a real delight, through incredibly lush, green landscapes on small roads without traffic. But then came this Marie Blanque, which had it in itself. Because it went suddenly incessantly always 13% up, constantly, without the slightest recovery. Up there we were then really happy.

Eaux Bonnes, a place out of time, always gets the attention it used to in the past because of the Tour de France. As the entrance to the great Pyrenean mountains at the foot of the Col de Aspique (1700m), it is the perfect place for a stopover for all kinds of cyclists, whether Tour professional or amateur, they all stop at the Hotel Richelieu.

Already in the entrance to the village a small monument shows what it is all about here, I found this extremely charming.

4 Etappe Eaux Bonnes – Arreau

The hardest stage I’ve done as a bike traveler. 3 mountains, Col de Aspique (1700m), Col du Turmalet (2100m) and the Col de Aspin (1500m) in one day and we did it, but glad that in Arreau a real break, a rest day was waiting for us.

An now the resting day in Arreau is hardly earnd.
